Chocolate Festival

Slovenia’s first Chocolate Festival was held in  late April in the medieval town of Radovljica, in northwestern Slovenia, not far from Lake Bled.  Radovljica is known for its famous bee museum, music festival, and honey cake (Lektar) workshop.

Radovljica is a stop on the “Taste of Slovenia” food tour.

Slovenian chocolatiers displayed their wares. Chocolate and wine pairings workshops were open to the public . Slovenian President Danilo Turk visited the festival. Not from from Radovljica, is home to the traditional chocolate maker, Gorenjka.

Slovenians are chocolate lovers, consuming 4,000 tons of chocolate per year.
